Alrighty lady! Don’t you dare give me a f’ing french quote on a Monday morning without an English translations… ESPECIALLY after I just said this weekend how well I understood you when you wrote English..
You did that on purpose..
You’re an evil ketchup hating woman.
It is not necessary to hope in order to undertake (something), nor to succeed in order to persevere.
Hm, doesn’t work too well in English; the infinitives get all tangled up. How about:
Hope is not necessary to achievement, nor is success required for perseverence.
Even that’s kind of weird; it’s more like the certaintly of success.
Maybe the expectation of success?
Yes, it’s difficult to translate. I’ll try another one: “Neither is hoping to succeed necessary to attempt (something), nor is succeeding required to persevere”
It’s still not right, but you get the idea 🙂
“Nothing interferes with my concentration. You could put on an orgy in my office and I wouldn’t look up. Well, maybe once.”
-Isaac Asimov
I’m guessing this should be a motivation quote then.
I actually made a category for quotes, and I’ve got an RSS feed with some daily ones. So on the occassional morning when I don’t find something else to yap about, I’ll throw up a quote.
